Description

American Traveler is hiring a Chemo Certified Med/Surg Oncology RN with ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification and at least 1 year of experience for a day shift assignment.

Details

• Med/Surg Oncology Chemo Certified unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Block schedule required with every other weekend required
• Floating between units and sister facilities may be required based on skill set
• No on-call requirements
• 48-hour work weeks approved
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license, Compact license must be in hand at submission
• BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy/biotherapy certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with Autologous Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T therapy patients preferred
• Skilled in chemotherapy administration including continuous infusion, oral, and monitoring
• Experience with IV therapy, infusions, and administration of blood and blood products required
• Experience with port care and central line/implanted line care required
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies including ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression required
• Experience managing chest tubes and neutropenic precautions required
• Skilled in symptom management including altered mental status, GI symptoms, dysphagia, edema, nausea/vomiting, and neuropathy

Additional Information

• Must have a vehicle for this assignment due to potential floating between facilities in Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, and Saint Vincent
• Additional incentive pay and mileage reimbursement offered for floating to the Seaside facility, with hotel accommodations for consecutive floating shifts
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• Only one active submission allowed to a Providence facility at a time
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for standard travel rate eligibility
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they do not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• No fee parking available on site
• Scrubs of any color permitted for this unit
