Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Oncology Chemotherapy – Portland, OR 97213
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Portland, Oregon metropolitan area
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00), every other weekend required, block scheduling required. Patient ratio 1:4. Floating to other units may be required based on facility needs.
Highlights:
- Short-term acute care facility with 418 staffed beds utilizing Epic charting system
- Opportunity to work with specialized oncology patients including Autologous Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T therapy
- 126-day assignment with 40 hours of paid orientation
- Comprehensive oncology unit experience with medical-surgical oncology patient population
- Potential to float to multiple locations within the health system based on clinical skills
- No parking fees; scrubs in any color accepted
Requirements:
- Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
- BLS certification required
- ONS/ONCC chemotherapy/biotherapy certification required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with administration of chemotherapy (IV, continuous infusion, oral), blood products, central line/port management, and oncology emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, hemorrhage, sepsis, spinal cord compression)
- Proficiency in managing oncology-specific symptoms including altered mental status, nausea/vomiting, neuropathy, neutropenic precautions, and chest tube care
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required for this assignment
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
