Performs patient evaluations and provides therapeutic services according to physicians orders. Services 74711. Therapy Services (b) The qualified therapist duties include: (1) Providing treatment as ordered by the attending physician, dentist or podiatrist. (2) Assisting the physician in evaluating level of function. (3) Assisting in developing and updating the plan of treatment. (4) Observing, recording and reporting information on the patient's condition to the attending physician and in the patient's health record. (5) Advising, consulting and, when appropriate, instructing family and other agency personnel, in patient's therapy program. (6) Teaching and supervising other health personnel when appropriate. (7) Evaluating the home environment and making appropriate recommendation. (8) Participating in in-service education programs. -Virginia State Specific: 1. Assessing client needs or admission for service as appropriate; 2. Implementing a medical plan of care and revising as necessary; 3. Initiating appropriate preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative techniques according to the medial plan of care; 4. Educating the client and family regarding treatment modalities and use of equipment and devices; 5. Providing consultation to other health care professional; 6. Communicating with the physician and other health care professionals regarding changes in the clients needs; 7. Supervising therapy assistants and home attendants as appropriate; and 8. HFS 133.19, shall be given in accordance with the plan of care developed under s. HFS 133.20. Individuals providing these services shall perform the duties under s.
