Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily chart reviews, build patient schedules, and perform patient care evaluations throughout the shift
Manage a patient load of 7–8 patients per 8-hour shift across a variety of acute care diagnoses including general medicine, neurology, orthopedics, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, surgical, ICU, and joint replacement
Participate in interdisciplinary huddles and collaborate with physical therapy staff to support patient workflow
Safely transfer and manage acutely ill patients with lines and drains in an acute care hospital setting
Participate in a rotating late joint coverage schedule; last joint seen by 5:00 PM with departure no later than 6:30 PM
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
Active Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) Occupational Therapist license required — no pending licenses accepted; no license hits permitted
NBCOT certification (OTR) required
BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required within the first 90 days; no pending certifications accepted at start
Demonstrated experience and comfort working in an acute care hospital setting, including management of patients with complex, acutely ill diagnoses
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with Epic electronic health records system
Prior experience with joint replacement patient populations
