Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) in Topeka, KS

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily chart reviews, build patient schedules, and perform patient care evaluations throughout the shift
• Manage a patient load of 7–8 patients per 8-hour shift across a variety of acute care diagnoses including general medicine, neurology, orthopedics, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, surgical, ICU, and joint replacement
• Participate in interdisciplinary huddles and collaborate with physical therapy staff to support patient workflow
• Safely transfer and manage acutely ill patients with lines and drains in an acute care hospital setting
• Participate in a rotating late joint coverage schedule; last joint seen by 5:00 PM with departure no later than 6:30 PM

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Active Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) Occupational Therapist license required — no pending licenses accepted; no license hits permitted
• NBCOT certification (OTR) required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required within the first 90 days; no pending certifications accepted at start
• Demonstrated experience and comfort working in an acute care hospital setting, including management of patients with complex, acutely ill diagnoses

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic electronic health records system
• Prior experience with joint replacement patient populations
