    Key Responsibilities
    • Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient and family goals
    • Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including team conferences, and collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive patient care
    • Coordinate and document discharge planning, including patient and family education, equipment recommendations, and placement arrangements
    • Complete all required documentation including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with department policies and timelines
    • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, OT and COTA students, and assist with new staff orientation
    • Promote patient and employee safety across all key areas including safe patient handling, infection control, and fall prevention
    Required Qualifications
    • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas
    • Ability to assess patients, develop and implement treatment plans, and administer appropriate evaluation procedures
    • Experience with or ability to supervise COTAs and OT students
    • Strong documentation skills with the ability to complete progress notes and evaluations within defined timeframes
    • Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and quality improvement standards
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a rehabilitation or post-acute care setting
    • Flexibility to work an alternate schedule that includes one to two weekend days
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members at varying levels of understanding
