    Key Responsibilities
    • Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient/family goals
    • Plan, implement, and document occupational therapy treatments in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines
    • Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including team conferences, and collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive patient care
    • Coordinate discharge planning for each patient, including placement recommendations, patient/family education, and adaptive equipment issuance and training
    • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT/COTA students in the application of occupational therapy theory and techniques
    • Complete all required documentation, including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, within defined timeframes and per department policy
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Occupational Therapist licensure in the state of Florida (or eligibility to obtain)
    • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to applicable federal, state, and local OT practice standards and regulations
    • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop appropriate, individualized treatment plans
    • Strong documentation skills with the ability to complete progress notes and reports within required timeframes
    • Ability to supervise support staff and students competently and effectively
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in a rehabilitation or acute care setting
    • Experience with safe patient handling practices and workplace safety protocols
    • Familiarity with interdisciplinary team collaboration and discharge planning processes
