Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' level of functioning upon physician orders and develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient/family goals.
• Plan, implement, and document occupational therapy treatments in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process, including team conferences, discharge planning, and family education.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), OT and COTA students, and assist with new staff orientation.
• Complete all required documentation including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries according to department policy and within defined timeframes.
• Promote patient and employee safety across key areas including safe patient handling, infection control, and fall prevention.

Required Qualifications

• Current, valid Occupational Therapist licensure in the state of Texas.
• Ability to assess, plan, and implement occupational therapy treatment programs independently.
• Experience with or ability to supervise COTAs and OT students.
• Strong documentation skills with the ability to complete records accurately and within required timeframes.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a rehabilitation or post-acute care setting.
• Familiarity with discharge planning processes including adaptive equipment recommendations and caregiver training.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
