Contract | Days | 8:00AM–5:00PM with one-hour lunch; one weekend day per month required
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate, plan, coordinate, administer, and supervise occupational therapy treatments to restore functional abilities, relieve pain, and prevent or minimize disability using client-centered and evidence-based practice
Provide age-specific OT services including therapeutic exercise, splinting, modalities, and self-care training across all patient age groups
Complete all required patient care documentation including evaluations, daily notes, re-evaluations, discharge summaries, and Medicare forms accurately and within required timeframes
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including physical therapy, speech therapy, nursing, and physicians to coordinate patient care
Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and OT student interns in accordance with the OT practice act and Medicare guidelines
Participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives, policy and procedure reviews, and community outreach activities
Required Qualifications
Current Occupational Therapist licensure with the State of Nebraska
Certification to administer Electrotherapeutic Agents, Deep Thermal Agents, and Superficial Thermal Agents
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued through the American Heart Association
Reliable personal transportation required; rideshare services are not available in the assignment area
Preferred Experience / Skills
1–2 years of experience in a rural healthcare setting preferred; new graduates will be considered
Experience supervising COTAs and/or OT student interns
Familiarity with swing bed program activities and acute care environments
