The average number of patients per day is 4-6. Most patients need short-term therapy after hospitalization or nursing home stay for varied reasons. The coverage area is 50 miles from the home base. The traveler will average 200-250 miles per week. Weekly team meetings occur virtually, and there are monthly in-person meetings. Orientation includes a general organizational overview and required online courses. There will be training on electronic medical records as well as ride-along and shadow visits. Support is offered from a therapy manager during the first couple of weeks of the assignment. Typically, the therapist will be fully productive by the third week. First-time travelers are accepted. Epic experience is preferred. A taxable address outside of the 50-mile coverage area is required.
