Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: M-F Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum of two years Occupational Therapy experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population. License: Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the State of California. Certifications: Initial Registration from National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, BLS. Must-Have: Highly motivated, inspirational leader who can engage, support, and remove barriers for the team to ensure goals are consistently met. Description: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for coordinating and providing restorative and rehabilitative Occupational Therapy services to participants. Occupational Therapy works closely with the interdisciplinary team members to maximize participant independence and safety, as well as enhancing performance of activities of daily living (ADLs). The Occupational Therapist collaborates with the Physical Therapist to ensure efficient operation of the rehabilitation department. Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments to determine the therapy needs, preferences, and goals of the participants. Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop participant care plans. Deliver and document Occupational Therapy interventions in accordance with physician orders and participant care plans. Supervise Therapy Assistants, providing training, instruction, and guidance needed to implement Functional Maintenance Programs. Provide training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers/families in areas of Occupational Therapy. Order, track, and manage maintenance for equipment. Remain alert to input from other team members, participants, and caregivers and promptly update the team of any changes in participants' condition or functional status. Work with other members of the team to support smooth care transitions between settings. Participate in end-of-life care coordination and support. Manage direct reports including training, supervising, and mentoring. Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality regarding all procedures and information about team members, participants, and families. Follow policies and procedures and participate in any required quality improvement activities, training, and meetings. Communicate regularly with supervisors and the team regarding workload and priorities. Timely completion of all mandated trainings and education is required. Demonstrate flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve. Other duties may be assigned.
