Responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs. Focus on building or restoring vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills, as well as promoting general independence for individuals with disabilities or developmental delays. Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment and effective communication. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures. Delivers optimal patient care while ensuring privacy and safety. Provides clinical supervision of assistants and aides. Serves as a clinical instructor for assigned students. Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs to rehabilitate those impaired by illness, injury, or psychological and developmental problems. Completes and documents patient evaluations and tests per established standards and regulatory requirements. Develops and updates the patient’s Plan of Care based on assessment data, identified problems, and diagnoses. Assesses and provides treatment for patients per their Plan of Care, following established standards. Completes documentation related to charge capture in accordance with established standards. Coordinates patient care effectively and efficiently with other healthcare providers and support team members. Complies with departmental and organizational requirements and responsibilities. Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment. Cleans and disinfects equipment after each use and inspects equipment per manufacturer's guidelines. Participates in quality improvement processes and interdisciplinary projects. Maintains strict confidentiality of all patients' Protected Health Information. Prepares and documents services in compliance with state and federal regulations. Completes mandated continuing education requirements to retain certification and meet accreditation and licensure requirements.
