Description:
Occupational Therapist needed for a full-time 26-week contract.
Shift information: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities include assisting with late joints on a rotation basis.
The last patient will be seen at 5:00 PM, with the latest departure by 6:30 PM.
There is no call and no weekends required.
Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required.
Active Occupational Therapist license and NBCOT certification required.
Epic experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Expected patient load is 7 to 8 patients per 8-hour shift.
Types of patients expected include general medical, neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, respiratory, trauma, surgical, ICU, and joint replacement cases.
Emergency department patients are less common.
Daily shift tasks will include chart review, schedule organization, patient care, and evaluations until approximately noon.
A huddle will take place at 12:45 PM, followed by a 30-minute lunch.
Afternoon sessions will resume after lunch.
Collaboration with physical therapists may occur during orientation to enhance workflow.
Candidates must be comfortable in an acute care hospital setting, managing patients with lines and drains, and handling very acutely ill diagnoses.
