Description: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for coordinating and providing restorative and rehabilitative Occupational Therapy services to participants. Occupational Therapy works closely with the interdisciplinary team to maximize participant independence and safety. The Occupational Therapist collaborates with other therapists to efficiently operate the rehabilitation department. Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments to determine care needs, preferences, and goals of participants. Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop participant care plans. Deliver and document Occupational Therapy interventions in accordance with physician orders and agreed care plans. Supervise Therapy Assistants, providing training, instruction, and guidance needed to implement Functional Maintenance Programs. Provide training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers in areas of Occupational Therapy. Order, track, and manage maintenance for equipment. Remain alert to input from team members, participants, and caregivers. Update the interdisciplinary team promptly of any changes in participants' condition or functional status. Work with other members of the interdisciplinary team to support smooth care transitions between settings. Participate in end-of-life care coordination and support. Manage direct reports, including training, supervising, and mentoring. Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality of all company procedures and information. Follow company policies and procedures and participate in any required quality improvement activities and meetings. Communicate regularly with supervisors and the team regarding workload and priorities. Timely completion of all mandated trainings and occupational health screenings as needed. Exercise flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve. Other duties as assigned.
