License: Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License. Certifications: - Must-Have: Occupational Therapy Assistant knowledge and skills necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs. Excellent clinical, organizational and communication skills in settings with seniors. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Description: The Occupational Therapist Assistant, under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, assists with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative Occupational Therapy services. The goal is to maximize participant independence and safety while enhancing the performance of daily living activities. The Occupational Therapist Assistant works with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement the plan of care established by the Occupational Therapist. Job Responsibilities: Administer participant treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist. Assist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing. Coordinate with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement activities based on the participant’s individual treatment plans. Deliver and document Occupational Therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans. Provide training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic equipment. Track and manage maintenance for equipment. Remain alert to input from other team members, participants, and caregivers, updating the Occupational Therapist promptly of any changes in participant condition or functional status. Participate in end-of-life care coordination and support under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Ensure compliance with all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality of all procedures and information concerning team members, participants, and families. Follow established policies and procedures and participate in required quality improvement activities, staff training, and meetings. Communicate regularly with Supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities. Complete all mandated trainings and education timely. Complete all mandated occupational health screenings as needed. Exhibit flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve. Other duties may be assigned. Schedule Notes: The position requires on-site work 3 days a week and off-site work 2 days a week, which includes mobile visits to participant homes for treatments and telehealth. Responsibilities also include scheduling recurring appointments and maintaining the rehabilitation gym.
