Clinical practice includes evaluation and occupational therapy treatment planning to facilitate rehabilitation of the mentally, physically, or emotionally handicapped. Works closely with patients and family to establish and meet treatment goals. Evaluates, treats, and monitors patients. Modifies therapy programs and goals as needed. Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately. Communicates effectively with patients and families, departmental coworkers, and members of the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family, and staff. Supervises support staff, students, and volunteers. Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review, and implementation of evidence-based practice. Shares knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines. Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns individual goals and work activities to support or impact the system goals. Must possess problem-solving skills necessary to accomplish the job. Must possess good communication skills and relate professionally and positively to patients and coworkers. Exhibits strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team. Assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, and colleagues. Possesses proficient computer knowledge and operates multiple computer systems and standard rehabilitation equipment. Exhibits high attention to detail in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of productivity.
