Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Long Term Care facility, requiring 1+ year of experience and prior LTC or Rehab setting experience.

Details

• Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility setting
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
• Start time flexible between 6AM and 10AM as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehab
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Group therapy sessions permitted to support caseload management
• Dedicated documentation device typically provided per therapist
• Caseload of approximately 7-12 patients per day depending on case mix

Requirements

• Current, active Occupational Therapy license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
• LTC or Rehab setting experience required
• Compact license accepted
• 1 reference required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develop individualized plans of care
• Provide skilled, medically necessary treatment including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, and modalities
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide interventions
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers
• Communicate regularly with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members on patient progress and treatment plans
• Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehab meetings
• Supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, aides, and students as needed
• Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and state practice act standards
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be requested
