Job Summary
Occupational Therapist Inpatient (OT IP) Location unspecified. This position involves providing specialized occupational therapy treatments to a diverse patient population within an acute care hospital setting. The therapist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, including evaluations, interventions, and discharge planning.
Job Details
- Position Description: The occupational therapist will utilize their education and training to deliver individualized treatments for patients with diagnoses including orthopedic, neurological, and general medical disorders. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, treatment interventions, team conferences, documentation, and utilizing modalities if able to perform.
- Qualifications: Certifications include BLS Certification. Education requirements include a minimum of 2 years of experience (experience requirement: 0 years). The position requires licensure and access to computerized charting systems such as EPIC.
- Schedule: Primary shift is Monday through Friday, generally from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Requires one weekend per month.
- Additional Information: The therapist must possess advanced critical thinking skills, the ability to manage a high-volume caseload, and be flexible and organized to adapt to a fast-paced environment. They may be asked to supervise certified occupational therapist assistants, aides, and students. Knowledge of vital signs, medical equipment, and the ability to evaluate and treat medically complex and unstable patients are essential. Orientation will include specific training for 1-2 days for computer documentation and other department-specific training.
