Job Summary
Occupational Therapist Inpatient (OT IP) Location: unspecified. This role involves providing specialized occupational therapy services within an inpatient setting, focusing on orthopedic upper extremity diagnoses, post-operative cases, acute injuries, and chronic conditions. The position requires a minimum of five (5) years of outpatient hand therapy experience, with expertise in splint fabrication and treatment across a wide patient age range, from pre-teens to geriatrics.

Job Details

  • Required Certifications and Qualifications: BLS certification; minimum of five (5) years of experience in outpatient hand therapy, including splint fabrication for post-operative cases, acute injuries, and chronic conditions. Experience with treating orthopedic upper extremity diagnoses is preferred.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Additional Information: Candidates should have experience treating a wide spectrum of orthopedic diagnoses, including post-operative, acute injuries, workers compensation cases, and chronic disorders. Patient care will span from pre-teens through geriatric adults. Responsibilities include assessment, discharge planning, development of dynamic and static splints, patient/family education, safety and injury prevention, and use of therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and TENS. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and familiarity with electronic charting systems (specifically Epic) are required.
