Key Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to an assigned caseload of 8–12 adult and geriatric home health patients
  • Deliver patient care within a 35-mile mileage territory; mileage is reimbursed at the federal IRS standard mileage rate
  • Complete clinical documentation using Cerner electronic health records
  • Meet productivity standards of 27 points per 40-hour week, with each visit type weighted accordingly
  • Float within scope of practice as needed to meet operational demands
  • Complete CYFD fingerprinting upon arrival, required for home health clinicians due to potential presence of children in patient homes

Required Qualifications

  • Active New Mexico Occupational Therapist license (pending state license accepted at time of submission)
  • NBCOT certification required
  • MOAB certification required; candidates without current MOAB certification must complete and pass a 4-hour in-person de-escalation course during orientation week — failure to pass may result in contract cancellation
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1–2 years of occupational therapy experience
  • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations in a home health setting
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
  • Prior travel therapy experience welcomed; first-time travelers also considered
