Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of inpatient acute care experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Acute Care Hospital setting within a large, 536-bed short-term acute care teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Weekend rotation required, approximately 4 weekend days per month
• Block scheduling required
• Floating between units required
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Inpatient acute care hospital experience required
• Large acute care hospital experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• NBCOT certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• License required if applicable
• 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide occupational therapy services including assessment, evaluation, plan of care, reassessments, and discharge planning
• Develop and implement home exercise programs
• Provide patient and family education on safety and injury prevention
• Perform lifting and transfer techniques as needed
• Handle telephone communications as part of daily duties
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of application
• Local candidates accepted within 50 miles at a lower bill rate
• Returning staff may reapply after a 3-month waiting period
• Scrubs of any color accepted, except OR/Cath Lab where scrubs are facility-provided
• No parking fees at this facility
• First-time travelers may be considered for this block position
