Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital setting, seeking candidates with at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting within Rehabilitation Services
  • Patient population includes high acuity and complex cases such as post-cardiac, post-ortho/joint, trauma, and post-stroke patients
  • 8-hour day shift schedule, typically 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Occasional weekend rotation based on departmental needs
  • No call requirements
  • No floating between facilities
  • Cerner EMR used, prior experience not required
  • Team includes supervisor, manager, and multiple OTs (typically 6 on shift)

Requirements

  • Current AL OT license required, if applicable
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with familiarity in Acute Care setting
  • Ability to independently evaluate, treat, and manage a caseload
  • Experience assisting with ADLs
  • Comfortable working in a teaching facility with students present

Additional Information

  • Work as part of a supportive interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team
  • Orientation includes general hospital orientation, learning modules, departmental training, and a Cerner refresher over approximately 1 week before starting caseload
  • Professional scrub attire required with matching top and bottom in any professional color
  • Holiday coverage depends on departmental needs; time off must be requested for holidays not worked
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • 60-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
  • Former perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
  • Free parking available on site
