Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a skilled nursing facility, requiring an active PA OT license and offering full-time or part-time scheduling.

Requirements

  • Current, active OT license in the state of PA required (license required if applicable)
  • BLS certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Doctorate preferred
  • Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand written instructions in English

Additional Information

  • Partner with residents and care providers to maximize functional abilities and independence in daily activities
  • Perform evaluative and therapeutic procedures under physician orders
  • Establish therapeutic plans of care with functional long- and short-term goals
  • Provide ADL training including bathing, dressing, oral care, and hair care
  • Assist with ambulation, mobility, positioning, and transfers using proper body mechanics and mechanical lifts as needed
  • Consult with referring physicians and healthcare team regarding therapeutic and discharge needs
  • Attend pertinent team meetings
  • Monitor and modify treatment plans based on resident progress
  • Recommend and provide instruction on assistive devices
  • Provide education to residents and caregivers and document responses to teaching
  • Refer residents to Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants as applicable and collaborate with other therapy professionals
  • Comply with Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement regulations
  • Supervise assistant-level staff as appropriate
  • Provide mentorship to new staff during orientation
  • Maintain department cleanliness and follow infection control procedures
  • Maintain required licenses, certifications, and complete annual compliance courses
