Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Outpatient in an outpatient setting. This role involves providing occupational therapy interventions to patients, including assessment, care planning, and education for patients and their families. The position requires delivering patient-centered care tailored to the age and needs of patients served and coordinating with case managers for continued therapy services after discharge.

Job Details:

  • Assesses patients, plans, and administers Care Plans compatible with physician, patient, and family goals.
  • Provides high-quality and safe patient care.
  • Completes all necessary documentation related to patient treatment.
  • Assists in the efficient and effective return of patients to the highest degree of independence possible.
  • Maintains a cost-effective treatment plan.
  • Assists in orientation of new employees and volunteers.
  • Instructs and evaluates the performance of therapy students and therapy assistant students during clinical affiliations.
  • Regularly assumes duties of Charge Therapist.
  • Provides courteous interaction with all employees, patients, and hospital associates.
  • Adheres to established hospital safety standards.
  • Ensures that department objectives are met.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the unit.
  • Administers to pediatric patients an Occupational Therapy Care Plan, including assessment and intervention in areas such as fine motor skills, self-help skills, development, and durable medical equipment.
  • Coordinates with a case manager for referrals to panel providers or medical therapy units for patients requiring ongoing occupational therapy post-discharge.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD); California Occupational Therapy License; BLS certification; Epic EHR experience within the past 6-12 months.
  • Additional Skills: Patient treatment documentation, fine motor skills, self-help skills, development, durable medical equipment, Epic.
