Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with 1+ year of acute inpatient or rehab experience for a 13-week acute care assignment treating orthopedic, neuro, and general medical patients.
Details
- >3 acute care hospital
- Occupational Therapy department covering acute inpatient and rehab units, with occasional ICU coverage based on experience
- Treats 10 to 12 patients per day
- Patient population includes ortho-total joints, neuro/stroke, occasional brain injury (excluding TBI), medical, and general ICU cases
- Rehab aides support the team; COTAs are not utilized
- EPIC EMR used
- Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts, 0730-1800
- Rotating weekend coverage required unless assigned to a regular weekend shift
- Holiday coverage as needed
- No self-scheduling or blocked scheduling available
Requirements
- Active Occupational Therapist state licensure required
- License required if applicable
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of licensed experience in acute inpatient or rehab setting required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, each including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- OT Manager or Supervisor present on-site for oversight
- Unit/department orientation typically lasts 2-3 days; travelers should plan for a Monday-Friday, 5x8-hour schedule during onboarding to accommodate this
- Scrubs are permitted but must not match the color designated for other departments; a list of approved colors is provided upon hire
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered for this position; local candidates will not be accepted
- Permanent employees of the facility must wait one year after separation before applying for a travel assignment
- Client may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
