Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital, requiring 6+ months of hospital OT experience and active state licensure.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting within the Occupational Therapy department
  • High-volume unit with approximately 250 active consults per day
  • 2:1 OTR to COTA staffing ratio
  • Typical patient assignment of 8-10 patients per OTR per day
  • General acute care DME equipment used
  • Meditech EMR system used
  • Day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
  • Minimum 6 months of hospital OT experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • Trauma experience preferred
  • Comprehensive stroke experience preferred
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Perform OT evaluations and treatments in a complex acute care environment
  • Work with a wide variety of diagnosis groups
  • Collaborate closely with a large, supportive interdisciplinary therapy team
  • High level of autonomy in care planning expected
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and high accountability required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills needed
  • Flexibility required given the fast-paced nature of acute care practice
  • Flexible scheduling options available
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
