Key Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in alignment with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
  • Manage a full hand therapy caseload, including outpatient orthopedic and hand therapy cases; fabricate and fit splints as clinically indicated
  • Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
  • Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs support effective return to community activities
  • Participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, learning objectives, and student evaluations
  • Adhere to the applicable State Practice Act and all regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Active Occupational Therapist licensure in the state of Florida in good standing
  • Demonstrated hand therapy experience, including comfort with a full hand caseload
  • Splint fabrication skills required
  • Experience in outpatient orthopedic and hand therapy settings
  • Ability to work across a split location (two outpatient sites)

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred
  • Experience with functional quality indicator assessments and letters of medical necessity
  • Active involvement in professional development, continuing education, and professional organizations
