Med/Surg Travel RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
• At least 3 years of current or recent medical-surgical, telemetry, and/or stepdown nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a telemetry competency evaluation
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current proficiency with the Epic electronic medical record system
• Ability to float between medical-surgical units and adapt quickly to changing patient-care needs

Medical-Surgical Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and cardiac patients during overnight shifts
• Monitor patients, recognize changes in condition, and respond promptly to clinical concerns
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and communicate significant findings to appropriate care team members
• Administer medications and treatments, complete nursing assessments, and document care accurately in Epic
• Support patients with a variety of needs, including wound care, stroke care, oncology, respiratory, observation, and emergency department overflow
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing colleagues, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Promote patient education, safety, comfort, and continuity of care throughout the travel assignment
