Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry - Direct Observation Unit position requiring step-down/PCU background and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the ED Observation unit within a hospital setting
  • Step-down/PCU candidates only
  • Shift: 3x12-hour nights, 1900-0730
  • Rotating weekends required
  • Float to other Tele units, Ortho surgical trauma, and acuity adaptable step-down units caring for patients such as those on insulin drips or with sepsis
  • May be required to take on-call shifts during a regularly scheduled shift
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (CO state or compact) required, no pending licenses accepted
  • Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS, none of which may expire prior to start date
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

  • Perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical duties per state Board of Nursing standards
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care including health teaching and counseling
  • Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
  • Provide therapy and treatment directly or through consultation, delegation, and supervision of others
  • Refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the health system and adhere to service behavior standards
  • Returning staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
