Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ED Observation unit requiring step-down/PCU experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

  • ED Observation unit within a hospital setting
  • Step-down/PCU candidates only
  • Night shift: 3x12hr shifts, 1900-0730
  • Rotating weekend requirement
  • 36 hours per week
  • Float requirement to other Tele units, Ortho surgical trauma, and acuity adaptable units (e.g. insulin drips, sepsis patients)
  • May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license, Colorado or Compact required
  • BLS (AHA) certification required
  • ACLS (AHA) certification required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty required
  • ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Certifications must not expire prior to start date
  • Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Perform independent nursing functions including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
  • Conduct health teaching, counseling, and therapy/treatment for patients
  • Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
  • Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans, referring patients for further evaluation as needed
  • May float to other departments within scope of competency based on business need
  • Former Intermountain permanent staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year to be eligible
  • First-time travelers may be considered
