Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• At least 1 year of related nursing experience preferred; wound care nursing experience strongly valued
• Epic experience required
• Proficiency with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office tools
• BLS certification required
• Wound, ostomy, and continence certification is not required
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care from consultation through discharge and follow-up
• Assist with pre-authorization processes and serve as a point of contact for consults and patient information
• Coordinate patient scheduling for wound care consultations, diagnostic testing, and treatment procedures
• Gather history and physical information and perform thorough patient assessments
• Assist in ordering labs, x-rays, and other diagnostic procedures
• Educate patients and families in partnership with surgeons and physicians
• Support development of patient and family educational materials
• Participate in patient rounds and case conferences
• Contribute to process improvement efforts related to skin and wound care
• Serve as a clinical expert and liaison for quality and safety initiatives related to wound care nursing
• Lead and support pressure injury prevalence survey efforts and maintain annual education requirements
