Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse – Kansas

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Self-scheduling format with 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule. 12-hour shifts with 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio. No on-call requirements.

Highlights:

  • 18-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in cardiac and pulmonary patients
  • Case mix includes COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and tracheostomy care
  • Intermediate acuity level – more intensive than Med/Surg, less acute than ICU
  • Meditech EMR system with Alaris and Kangaroo pumps
  • Strong unit support with 2 Patient Care Technicians and 1 Unit Secretary per shift
  • Computer access in every patient room for streamlined documentation

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
  • Progressive Care, Telemetry, or Step-Down experience strongly preferred
  • Competency in oxygen therapy including Nasal Cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and AirVo systems
