2. Experience Requirements

Mandatory Experience

• 1.5–2 years of Telemetry experience required.
• Candidates without Telemetry experience will not be considered.
• PCU experience is preferred.
• Stroke experience is preferred.
• Meditech experience is preferred.

Important: General Med-Surg experience alone may not satisfy the Telemetry requirement.

3. License & Certifications

Required certifications:

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

License: State RN license requirement is not specified. Confirm with the account manager.

4. Unit Information

• Total Beds: 80
  • 40 beds – 3CV East.
  • 40 beds – 3CV West.
• 3CVE Staff: 104.
• 3CVW Staff: 79.

Day Shift Staffing:

• CNC/Charge Nurse.
• 10 nurses.
• 1.5 break nurses.
• 3 CNAs.
• 1 unit clerk/sitter when needed.

Night Shift Staffing:

• CNC/Charge Nurse.
• 10 nurses.
• 1.5 break nurses.
• 3 CNAs.
• Sitter when needed.

5. Patient Ratios

• Telemetry: 1:4.
• PCU: 1:3.

Candidates should be comfortable managing these patient assignments.

6. Patient Population & Clinical Experience

The unit cares for patients with:

• Angiograms.
• Post-operative day 3 open-heart surgery.
• Stroke.
• PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention).
• Various post-operative surgical conditions.

7. Required Clinical Skills & Procedures

Candidates should have experience with:

• Telemetry monitoring.
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation.
• Stroke patient care.
• Swallowing and dysphagia management.
• TR Band maintenance.
• Chest tube management.
• Wound VAC management.
• Post-operative patient care.
• Monitoring patients following cardiac procedures.

Important: Strong cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills are especially relevant.

8. Equipment Used

• Alaris IV pumps.
• Telemetry boxes.
• Hoyer lifts.
• Wound VACs.
• Immobile equipment (as listed in the posting).
• PCS pumps.
• Glucometers.
• Mobilab.

9. EMR / Charting

• EMR: Meditech.
• Meditech experience is preferred, not mandatory.

10. Floating Requirements

• Floating may be required to:
  • 3CV East.
  • 3CV West.
  • Med-Surg units, when needed.
• Candidates must be flexible and comfortable floating to other units.

11. Weekend & On-Call Requirements

• Rotating weekends.
• No on-call requirement.
• No fixed weekend schedule is guaranteed.

• Unit expectations will be reviewed during orientation/onboarding.
