Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Telemetry unit with a neurology focus, maintaining a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Perform and interpret NIH Stroke Scale assessments accurately and consistently
- Care for post-surgical neurology patients and patients with varied neurological diagnoses
- Float between units within the facility as needed based on staffing requirements
- Work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule
- Document all patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Neurology nursing experience required
- Proficiency with NIH Stroke Scale
- Experience caring for post-surgical neurology patients
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma, or teaching hospital environment
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and related clinical protocols
- Demonstrated flexibility to float between units as assignment needs dictate
