Key Responsibilities

• Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing care priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring clinical intervention.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care consistent with nursing standards.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of clinical findings and patient outcomes, modifying care plans accordingly.
• Provide care for post cardiac cath, post-surgical, and high-risk medication patients (including cardizem, heparin, nitroglycerin, insulin, ketamine, and lidocaine drips), as well as respiratory patients on NIPPV (BiPAP, AirVo).
• Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning; perform Point of Care testing procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Ability to meet weekend on-call requirements as needed.
• Willingness to float to other locations as required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC EMR.
• Prior telemetry nursing experience with a 1:4–5 patient ratio environment.
• National professional nursing certification or advanced nursing education (BSN or MSN).
