Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a MedSurg/Telemetry unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, floating between a surgical/orthopedic/medical unit and a cardiac-focused stepdown unit as needed
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring equipment with support from an on-site monitor technician
Manage cardiac and critical drips including amiodarone, heparin, cardizem, fixed-rate insulin, nitroglycerin, and dopamine (renal dosing only)
Care for a diverse patient population including post-cath, post-pacemaker, post-PCI, TAVR (day 1+), CABG (day 1+), sepsis, and respiratory distress patients
Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy (available 24/7) and on-call hospitalist/intensivist for after-hours support
Adhere to weekend rotation requirements (every other weekend; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) and participate in holiday staffing rotation
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current ACLS certification
Current BLS certification
Current NIHSS certification
Proficiency with Cerner EMR
Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a MedSurg/Telemetry or cardiac stepdown setting
Familiarity with managing BiPAP/CPAP patients (vents not required)
Experience with cardiac drip management and post-procedural cardiac patient care
