Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surgical and Surgical Stepdown unit serving a diverse post-operative population including General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Urology, Oral, Plastics, and Trauma surgery patients
Perform continuous telemetry monitoring, including the ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
Manage complex clinical equipment and interventions including chest tubes, nasogastric tubes (NGT), epidurals, and Capnography
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the EPIC electronic medical records system
Float between units as required to meet staffing needs across a 23-bed facility
Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 3–5 patients on Med/Surg and 2–3 patients on Surgical Stepdown
Required Qualifications
Current Massachusetts RN License
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a single Med/Surg or Telemetry setting
Minimum of 2 years of travel nursing experience
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
Proficiency in management of chest tubes, NGT, epidurals, and Capnography
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience managing arterial lines
Experience with vasopressor management, including neo-synephrine
Prior experience with EPIC EMR
