Contract | 36 hours/week | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Every Other Weekend
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care on a 37-bed medical telemetry unit for patients admitted from the ED, transferred from other units, or directly admitted by a physician
- Monitor and manage patients on cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin; must be able to interpret telemetry strips
- Care for patients with primary diagnoses including CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, and Pneumonia, as well as patients with cardiac co-morbidities
- Provide nursing care for post-cardiac catheterization and post-pacemaker patients, including NSTEMI patients
- Chart and document patient care using EPIC EMR
- Float to applicable units when census or staffing needs require
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN License
- AHA BLS Certification
- Telemetry Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a single location and 2 years of travel nursing experience
- Proficiency with cardiac drip management and telemetry strip interpretation
- Ability to work rotating shifts (7a–7p, 11a–11p, or 7p–7a) and every other weekend
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience providing nursing care for post-cardiac catheterization and post-pacemaker patients
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
- Experience caring for patients with EtOH-related diagnoses or dementia with cardiac co-morbidities
