Contract | 36 or 48 hours per week | Days/Evenings rotating with 1–3 Night rotations per contract | Every Other Weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Float between 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital, including ED border patients, acute mental health medication nurse coverage, and care for non-vented ICU transfer-ready patients
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours
- Manage and administer cardiac drips in accordance with unit protocols
- Provide direct patient care with ratios of up to 5:1 on Days/Evenings and up to 6:1 on Nights
- Utilize TR Band experience as applicable to patient population
- Document and chart accurately using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN License
- AHA BLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location
- Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, including strip interpretation and interval measurement
- Ability and willingness to float to 8 different units as assigned
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of experience specifically in telemetry or Med/Surg Telemetry settings
- TR Band experience
- Prior experience with EPIC EMR
- Familiarity with caring for ED border patients and acute mental health populations
