Float Pool Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | Every Other Weekend | Expected 36 hours/week | Day/Evening rotations with 1–3 night rotations per contract
Key Responsibilities
- Float between 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital, including ED, acute mental health, and ICU overflow areas
- Perform cardiac monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours
- Administer and manage cardiac drips and provide care for ED border patients and non-vented ICU transfer-ready patients
- Serve as medication nurse in the acute mental health unit as assigned
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR
- Maintain clinician-to-patient ratios of up to 5:1 on days/evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN License required
- AHA BLS Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a travel nurse
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, including strip interpretation and interval measurement
- TR Band experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of experience specifically in telemetry or Med/Surg Telemetry settings
- Prior float pool experience across multiple unit types
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system
