Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Monitor and manage a patient population that includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID, and post-procedure patients such as pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and patients downgraded from ICU
Administer and monitor non-titratable cardiac medication drips including Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitro
Identify and measure rhythm strips as part of ongoing telemetry monitoring responsibilities
Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative, patient-centered environment
Float to intensive care units, medical-surgical units, or other areas as needed, up to competency level
Required Qualifications
Active Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to start
Current BLS certification required
Current ACLS certification required
Current NIHSS certification required
Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience
Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identification and measurement of rhythm strips, prior to assignment commencement
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced acute care or trauma center environment
Familiarity with post-procedure cardiac patient care including pacemakers, ablations, and open-heart surgery step-down patients
Experience floating across multiple unit types including ICU and medical-surgical settings
