    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Telemetry unit with a 1:3–4 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing diagnoses including stroke, TIA, seizure, TBI, and mixed medical telemetry patients
    • Read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips using GE Apex Telemetry boxes; passing a dysrhythmia exam is required
    • Manage set-rate and protocol-driven drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and DKA protocols (titration of drips is not required)
    • Operate and monitor respiratory support equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC); no ventilator management required
    • Conduct bedside shift reports with a strong focus on patient experience, HCAHPS scores, and core measures — specifically stroke measures
    • Float as needed to the IMCU or Med/Surg departments
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license valid in the state of California
    • ACLS certification required
    • BLS certification required
    • NIHSS certification required
    • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Telemetry or a related specialty; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
    • Proficiency with Cerner EMR
    • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to or during unit orientation
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience caring for stroke, TIA, seizure, or TBI patient populations
    • Familiarity with stroke core measures and HCAHPS-focused care environments
    • Comfort working in a consistently high-census, fast-paced telemetry setting
    • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and adaptable to unit culture and mission-driven environments
