Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies and procedures
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in planning and delivering safe, high-quality patient care
- Anticipate patient care needs and maintain clinical competencies through ongoing continuing education
- Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff
- Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care on the PCU/Telemetry unit
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Texas
- Minimum of 2 years of Telemetry or PCU nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Must not be a local candidate — travel candidates only
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced PCU or step-down telemetry environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills with demonstrated ability to supervise and direct clinical staff
