    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Telemetry

    Location

    Newport News, VA | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry unit, organized across three 18-bed wings
    • Care for cardiovascular telemetry patients, including those in an overflow unit setting
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC
    • Adhere to NIH stroke education protocols and standards required for RNs in acute care
    • Demonstrate flexibility with scheduling, including every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights) and potential holiday shifts during the assignment period
    • Float to other units based on facility needs as requested
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license valid in Virginia, or proof of a compact license, required at time of submittal
    • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
    • ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
    • NIHSS certification required; NIH and stroke education required
    • Specialty (Telemetry) experience within the last year required
    • One supervisory reference required at time of submittal
    • Social Security Number required at time of submittal
    • All managers conduct interviews; candidates should be prepared and familiar with the job description
    • Candidates who were previously permanent employees must have been separated for at least 6 months prior to placement
    • Candidates may not work travel and per diem contracts with the same health system simultaneously; one must be chosen
    • Locals are welcome and accepted at the same base rate
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in a cardiovascular telemetry setting
    • Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records in an acute care environment
    • Flexible scheduling availability with minimal time-off requests during the assignment period
