Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every Other Weekend Required | 48 Hours Guaranteed
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Telemetry/Medical-Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio on both day and night shifts
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings via bedside and nurses' station screens; respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
- Perform IV starts and manage Alaris IV pumps and Dynamap (WelchAllyn) equipment
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Conduct bedside shift reports, hourly safety rounds, and maintain personal patient connections following AIDET communication standards
- Float to orthopedic or telemetry units as needed based on staffing requirements and verified competencies
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Missouri or a compact state
- Minimum 1 year of Telemetry or Medical-Surgical RN experience
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Basic Dysrhythmia certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Strong time management skills in a high-acuity, fast-paced unit environment
- Proficient IV start skills and experience with telemetry monitoring equipment
- Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
- Demonstrated commitment to patient experience and relationship-centered care
