Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Acute Care / Telemetry unit serving a primarily geriatric and swing bed population
- Deliver concierge-level patient experience consistent with the expectations of an affluent community setting
- Perform wound care and other minor unit-based procedures as required
- Manage patient assignments at ratios of up to 6–7:1, including periods without HUC or tech support
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using the Cerner electronic health record system
- Adhere to unit dress code: all navy or navy top with white bottoms
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Demonstrated experience caring for geriatric patients or prior inpatient rehabilitation / swing bed experience
- Proficiency with wound care
- Ability to work independently in a low-resource staffing environment (no HUC, tech, or additional RN coverage when no tech is present)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Current ACLS certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
- Prior travel nursing experience in a rural or critical access hospital setting
