    Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Medical Oncology)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week | 13-Week Assignment

    Key Responsibilities
    • Independently analyze and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips without monitor tech support
    • Administer chemotherapy and manage continuous infusion medications including cardiac drips, insulin, and heparin
    • Provide care for adult patients with hematologic, oncologic, immunocompromised, and cardiac conditions, including those with complex multi-system complications
    • Perform IV starts, peripheral lab draws, arterial blood draws, wound vac dressing changes, and management of wound drains, central lines, chest tubes, and tracheotomy patients
    • Deliver patient education related to chemotherapy, radiation, disease processes, diagnostic procedures, and trach care
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Case Management, and Social Work
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact State license
    • Current BLS certification (required upon start)
    • Current ACLS certification
    • NIHSS certification
    • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
    • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips; must pass EKG and Pharmacology exams prior to start
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Strong oncology nursing background with experience in chemotherapy administration
    • Phlebotomy skills including peripheral and arterial blood draws
    • Experience managing complex infusion therapies and high-acuity medical-oncology patient populations
