    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to telemetry and medical/surgical patients, primarily ED holds awaiting inpatient bed placement, at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Read, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythm strips independently, as no monitor technician is available on unit
    • Titrate and adjust cardiac drips (including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone) per physician orders and established parameters
    • Assist with ED patient support tasks such as vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration as needed; will not serve as primary RN for ED patient assignments
    • Float to medical/surgical, telemetry, and overflow units at affiliated campuses as needed
    • Participate in weekend rotation (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) and rotate holidays with permanent staff
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
    • Strong cardiac telemetry background with a minimum of 2 years of experience
    • Demonstrated ability to titrate cardiac drips per physician orders and parameters
    • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (maximum of 2 attempts permitted)
    • Must pass a Simulation Lab competency assessment on the first day of orientation
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience caring for a higher volume of telemetry patients versus medical/surgical patients
    • Familiarity with ED hold patient populations and workflows
    • Comfort with self-scheduling in a dynamic clinical environment
