    Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to ED hold patients awaiting inpatient bed placement, with a primary focus on medical/telemetry patients at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Continuously monitor, read, and interpret cardiac telemetry strips independently — no monitor technician is available on unit
    • Titrate and adjust cardiac drips (including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone) per physician orders and established parameters
    • Assist with ED patient support tasks including vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration as needed (will not serve as primary RN for ED patient assignments)
    • Float to med/surg, telemetry, and overflow units at assigned campuses as needed
    • Participate in rotating weekend shifts (4 per 4-week schedule) and holiday rotation with permanent staff
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license valid in the state of Arizona
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (maximum of 2 attempts); failure results in a 6-month disqualification period
    • Must pass a Simulation Lab evaluation on the first day of orientation; failure results in a 6-month disqualification period
    • Strong cardiac telemetry background required, with a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience preferred; must demonstrate ability to titrate cardiac drips per physician orders and parameters
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience caring for medical/telemetry patients in an ED hold or overflow setting
    • Familiarity with common titratable drips including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
    • Experience working in a fast-paced acute care environment alongside ED support staff such as PCTs
