Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) and Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | No on-call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to a higher-acuity med-surg population including post-op spinal surgery patients, Level 2 trauma patients, and Level 1 trauma post-ICU patients
• Care for stroke patients and patients with diagnoses such as DKA, renal failure, and general post-operative conditions
• Perform keen neurological assessments and apply critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment
• Manage drains and other post-operative care needs as required by patient acuity
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
• Float to other med-surg or telemetry units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Indiana RN licensure required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required (may be obtained during the first week of orientation)
• Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in neuro medical-surgical or telemetry nursing
• Experience caring for trauma patients or post-ICU step-down populations
• Familiarity with drain management in post-operative spinal surgery patients
