Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit with a maximum patient ratio of 6:1
- Perform standard nursing skills including IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, and central line maintenance
- Administer medications and communicate effectively with all members of the care team
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
- Float to other Med/Surg units as needed
- Participate in rotating weekend coverage as required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be valid for the state of Texas or a Compact license)
- Minimum 1 year of acute Med/Surg experience within the last year
- Ability to manage and care for 4–6 patients simultaneously
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2+ years of acute Med/Surg experience within the last year
- Background in orthopedics or neuro-surgery nursing
- Med/Surg/Telemetry combined background
- Friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused personality
